Headaches are characterized by either sharp or dull pain, affecting any region of the head including the ears, nose, and eyes. There are many different types of headaches and they can occur in any region of the head; from the back of the head and even the eyes. All headaches are considered as primary headaches or as secondary headaches. Primary headaches are not caused by disease (i.e. migraines, tension headaches, cluster headaches) while secondary headaches are caused by diseases. Headaches can be caused by many different ailments, with the most common being migraines, TMJ syndrome and myofascial syndrome.
