Hair Restoration Treatment

PRP is a regenerative procedure that uses concentrated growth factors (platelets) from your own blood to harness your body’s ability to accelerate healing of tissue and cellular growth. First blood is drawn and then centrifuged to separate the red blood cells from your plasma. The plasma is concentrated with platelets and growth factors and injected into the area of need. We use PRP in conjunction with Stem Cells and Exosomes to get you the best result.

PRP helps with hair restoration and stimulation. The mechanism of action is by stimulating inactive hair follicles into an active growth phase.

  • It promotes hair growth
  • Multiple injections may be needed
  • First the area of the scalp is anesthetized and a ring block is performed to provide a numbing effect
  • The first round of treatments takes a few visits (3-6 series) to see initial results.
  • And after the results start to appear, you will still need to get touch-ups at least once a year to maintain new hair regrowth.

Exosomes:

Exosomes are tiny communication vesicles within your stem cells that give them their incredible power to regenerate new tissue (including hair). These tiny nano-particles are only 1/1000th the size of a stem cell and contain over 1000 protein growth factors. Proteins delivered in the exosomes provide cellular communications that signal healing, anti-inflammatory responses, and cellular growth.

The first step is providing local anesthesia to the desired area to numb the region. The preparation is then injected into the scalp using the tiniest of needles just under the skin to thinning scalp areas.

The injections are spaced carefully to maximize the treatment effect with concentrated protein factors that promote hair growth. The treatment is effective in both men and women with most patterns of hair loss. Because the preparation is acellular, the treated areas do not demonstrate any inflammation or redness post-treatment. It usually requires one treatment to see results but multiple treatments may be needed depending on hair growth.

Stem Cells:

Stem cells are basic building-block cells that have the unique ability to develop into specialized cell types in the human body. They, therefore, have the ability to repair and heal rapidly. Stem cells are taken from your own fat tissue or bone marrow or it can come from donated umbilical cord and, when concentrated and injected into your scalp, can reverse the shrinking of hair follicles and thus promote hair growth. After the cells are injected into the scalp, hair growth starts at around the 1 month mark, peaking in about 4-6 months. It may require 1-2 injections.

Many times PRP, exosomes and stem cells can be combined to produce more improved and robust results.
